Welcome to the CycleConnect Journal

A new home for cycling notes, route guides, and the bits of UK & Ireland riding that don’t fit on an event listing. What to expect.

This is the start of the CycleConnect Journal — a place for the cycling notes that don’t fit on an event listing. Route guides, regional spotlights, kit thoughts, and the occasional pull-out from a club we like.

We won’t pretend to ship two posts a week. Six to eight a year, written when we’ve actually been somewhere worth writing about. Quality over cadence. Most posts will be ride-led: real routes, real coffee stops, real reasons to put a Sunday aside.

What you can expect

  • Route guides — gravel loops in the Chilterns, sportive recces in Yorkshire, that sort of thing. Always with a GPX link.
  • Regional spotlights— what to ride in Edinburgh / Sheffield / the Lake District if you’ve got a weekend.
  • Notes from the platform — interesting things that surface from the events database. Not promo; observation.

Where to start

If you’re here from the homepage, the easiest entry point is the events listing — browse what’s on this month. If you’re here from search and want to know what CycleConnect actually is, the short version: a directory of UK & Ireland cycling events, clubs, and community rides, run by riders.

Comments aren’t open here yet — drop a note via the contact formif there’s a route, region, or topic you’d like us to cover.
