Cycling events in Yorkshire
The Dales, Moors and the ghost of Le Tour de Yorkshire. God's own county for cycling.
Yorkshire's cycling credentials were sealed when the Grand Départ of the Tour de France rolled through the Dales in 2014. The roads that feature in the old Tour de Yorkshire — Holme Moss, Buttertubs, Park Rash — are now pilgrimage routes for every sportive rider in the UK.
The Yorkshire Dales Sportive, the Dave Rayner 300, and the Tour of the Moors keep the calendar busy through summer. North Yorkshire coast roads (Whitby, Scarborough, Robin Hood's Bay) add flatter options.
