Cycling events in the East of England
Flat enough to ride in the big ring all day. Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex.
East Anglia is pan-flat, which makes for fast rides and a strong time-trialling tradition. Norfolk and Suffolk have some of the oldest cycling clubs in the country; Cambridge is a national hub for racing thanks to the velodrome at Milton Keynes Bowl and a packed closed-circuit calendar at Hog Hill and Mildenhall.
For sportives, the Magnificent Seven, Flat Out in the Fens, and the Norfolk Coast 100 are all favourites. Gravel riding across Thetford Forest and the Breckland tracks is quietly excellent.
